Liposuction Istanbul 2026 | 360 Lipo Cost Guide

Liposuction İstanbul 2026

You’ve been working out. You’ve been eating right. And there are still pockets of fat that refuse to budge — the lower belly, the love handles, the inner thighs, that stubborn roll under the bra line. This isn’t a discipline problem. It’s genetics. And liposuction in Istanbul is the most effective way to permanently remove those resistant fat deposits.

I’m Dr. Elvan Bayraktar, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Istanbul. Liposuction is one of the procedures I perform most frequently, and it’s also one of the most misunderstood. It’s not a weight loss tool. It’s a body sculpting procedure — and when performed correctly, the results are permanent. This page covers costs, techniques, recovery, and how to plan your trip.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction removes fat cells from specific areas of the body using a thin tube called a cannula, connected to a vacuum. The fat cells are permanently extracted — they don’t grow back. The remaining fat cells in the treated area can expand if you gain weight, but you’ll never accumulate fat in the same pattern as before surgery.

Modern liposuction is a sculpting art. It’s not about removing the maximum amount of fat. It’s about creating smooth contours, defined waistlines, and proportional body shapes. The best liposuction results look like the patient lost weight naturally — nobody should be able to tell you had surgery.

    Common Treatment Areas

    • Abdomen — upper and lower belly fat
    • Flanks — love handles / muffin top
    • Back — bra rolls, upper and lower back fat
    • Thighs — inner, outer (saddlebags), and anterior thighs
    • Arms — upper arm fat (“bat wings”)
    • Chin and neck — double chin / submental fat
    • Male chest — gynecomastia (male breast reduction)

    360 Liposuction: Full Body Contouring

360 liposuction (also called circumferential liposuction) treats the entire midsection — front, sides, and back — in a single session. This is the most popular option for international patients because it delivers the most dramatic body transformation in one surgery.

Instead of treating the abdomen alone and leaving the flanks untouched (which can look unbalanced), 360 lipo sculpts the full circumference of your torso. The result is a defined waist, flat stomach, and smooth back — visible from every angle.

I typically combine 360 lipo with high-definition (HD) sculpting for patients who want visible muscle definition. Using a Vaser probe or PAL system, I can etch the outlines of the abdominal muscles (creating a “six-pack” effect) and define the serratus and oblique lines. This technique requires a low body fat percentage to show results, so it’s not suitable for every patient — I’ll advise you honestly during consultation.

Liposuction Techniques: Vaser vs Traditional vs PAL

Not all liposuction is created equal. The technique matters — both for your results and your recovery.

    Traditional Tumescent Liposuction

The gold standard for over 30 years. A saline solution with adrenaline and local anaesthetic is infused into the treatment area, causing the fat to swell and firm up. Then a cannula is used to manually break up and suction out the fat. Reliable, well-studied, and effective for large-volume fat removal.

    Vaser Liposuction (Ultrasound-Assisted)

Vaser uses ultrasound energy to liquefy fat cells before extraction. The advantage? It’s gentler on surrounding tissues — blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue are largely preserved. This translates to less bruising, less swelling, and a smoother result. Vaser is my preferred technique for precision areas like the chin, arms, inner thighs, and HD body sculpting.

    PAL (Power-Assisted Liposuction)

PAL uses a vibrating cannula tip that breaks up fat mechanically. It’s faster than manual liposuction and less fatiguing for the surgeon during large-volume cases. I use PAL for 360 liposuction where we’re removing 3-5+ litres of fat — it maintains consistent results across large treatment areas.

    Which Technique Is Best?

There’s no single best technique. I often use a combination within the same procedure — Vaser for detailed sculpting areas, PAL for large-volume zones. The technique is far less important than the surgeon’s skill and aesthetic eye. A talented surgeon with basic equipment will outperform a mediocre surgeon with the latest technology every time.

    Liposuction Istanbul Cost in 2026

The cost of liposuction in Istanbul depends on how many areas you’re treating and which technique is used. Single-area liposuction starts at around $2,500, while full 360 liposuction with HD sculpting can reach $5,500.

    What’s Included?

Our liposuction packages include surgeon and anaesthesia fees, hospital stay (day case or 1 night depending on volume), compression garments, medications, post-op follow-ups in Istanbul, and VIP airport transfers. The only things you arrange separately are flights and hotel.

    The Liposuction Procedure: What Happens

    Before Surgery

You arrive in Istanbul the day before. I do a final in-person assessment, take photographs, and draw detailed markings on your body while you’re standing — this is critical because fat distribution shifts when you lie down. We mark the areas to be treated, the zones to avoid, and the transition points where sculpting needs to be feathered for a natural look.

    During Surgery

The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia for most patients (local anaesthesia with sedation is possible for single small areas like the chin). Tumescent fluid is infiltrated first. Then the chosen liposuction technique is applied. For 360 lipo, you’ll be repositioned during surgery — starting on your back, then turning to your stomach — so all areas are accessible.

Duration: 1-2 hours for a single area, 2-4 hours for 360 liposuction.

    After Surgery

You’ll wake up wearing a compression garment. Expect to feel sore and swollen — like you’ve done an intense workout you don’t remember. Small incision sites may leak fluid for 24-48 hours (this is normal and actually reduces swelling). Most patients go back to their hotel the same evening or the next morning.

    Liposuction Recovery Timeline

    Days 1-7 (Istanbul)

Swelling, bruising, and soreness. Walking is encouraged from day one — short, slow walks around your hotel. The compression garment stays on 24/7 (you can remove it briefly to shower from day 2). I see you for follow-up on days 3 and 5-7. Light tumescent fluid drainage from incision sites is normal for the first 2-3 days.

    Weeks 2-4 (Home)

Bruising fades. Swelling peaks around day 5-7 and then gradually decreases. You can return to desk work within 5-7 days for small-area lipo, 10-14 days for 360 procedures. No exercise beyond walking. Compression garment worn 23 hours a day.

    Weeks 4-8

This is where you start seeing real results. Swelling is down by roughly 70%. You can begin light cardio — walking, cycling, swimming. No high-impact exercise yet. The compression garment can be worn 12 hours a day (typically overnight). Your clothes fit differently. People start noticing.

    Months 3-6: Final Results

Residual swelling fully resolves. The final contour is visible. Skin retracts and tightens over the treated areas (younger patients with good skin elasticity see the best retraction). Scars from the cannula entry points are 3-4mm and typically fade to near-invisible by month 6.

    Risks and Complications

Liposuction is one of the safest procedures in plastic surgery when performed by a qualified surgeon in a proper hospital setting. But it’s still surgery. Here are the risks you should know about:

    • Contour irregularities — lumps, bumps, or asymmetry. This is the most common aesthetic complication and is usually related to surgical technique. Minor irregularities can be corrected with a small revision.
    • Seroma — fluid accumulation under the skin, drained easily in the office if it occurs
    • Infection — rare with antibiotics and proper wound care
    • Numbness — temporary altered sensation in treated areas, usually resolves within weeks to months
    • Skin laxity — if skin elasticity is poor, liposuction alone may leave loose skin. In those cases, I recommend combining lipo with a tummy tuck or skin excision. I’ll flag this during your consultation if it applies to you.
    • DVT/PE — blood clots are a risk with any surgery involving general anaesthesia. Compression stockings, hydration, and early walking minimise this risk.

The single biggest factor in avoiding complications? Choosing the right surgeon and following post-operative instructions to the letter. Wear your garment. Walk. Don’t rush back to intense exercise. Simple rules that make a real difference.

Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction?

The best candidates for liposuction are within 10-15 kg of their ideal weight with localised fat deposits that don’t respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction is not designed for patients who need to lose 30+ kg — that’s a lifestyle and medical weight-management conversation first.

    Good candidates:

    • Are at a stable weight and reasonably fit
    • Have firm, elastic skin (younger skin retracts better after fat removal)
    • Have specific problem areas — “I can’t lose this belly no matter what I do”
    • Are non-smokers or willing to stop for 6 weeks around surgery
    • Understand that liposuction sculpts shape, not scale numbers

If your main concern is loose, hanging skin rather than fat, a tummy tuck may be a better option — or a combination of both.

    Travel Guide: Liposuction in Istanbul

    Getting Here

Istanbul Airport (IST) connects to virtually every major city. London to Istanbul is 3.5 hours. Most European capitals are 2.5-4 hours away. Budget carriers frequently offer return fares under £150-200 from UK airports. A VIP driver meets you at arrivals — included in your package.

    Where to Stay

For liposuction, a 5-7 night stay in Istanbul is typical. Our clinic is located in the Nişantaşı/Şişli area, and we recommend hotels within a 10-minute drive. Rates range from $60-120/night at our partner hotels. You’ll want somewhere comfortable with good room service — the first 2-3 days you won’t feel like going out for meals.

    Visa and Entry

UK and US citizens: e-Visa required, available online at evisa.gov.tr (about $50, 10-minute process). German, French, Italian, Spanish citizens: no visa needed for stays under 90 days. Passport must be valid for 6+ months from arrival date. Check the Turkish MFA site if your nationality isn’t listed here.

    Recovery-Friendly Packing List

    • Dark, loose-fitting clothing (tumescent fluid may stain light fabrics in the first 48 hours)
    • Slip-on shoes
    • Old towels or dark bed sheets for your hotel (fluid leakage protection)
    • A foam roller — gentle use from week 3 helps with hardness and swelling
    • Prescribed medications from home if you take any regularly

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is liposuction permanent?

Yes. Fat cells removed by liposuction are gone permanently — your body doesn’t regenerate them. However, the remaining fat cells in treated (and untreated) areas can still expand if you gain significant weight. Maintaining a stable weight after surgery preserves your results long-term. Most patients find that liposuction motivates them to maintain healthier habits because they finally see the body shape they’ve been working toward.

How much fat can be removed in one session?

Safety guidelines recommend a maximum of 5 litres of pure fat (aspirate) in a single session for outpatient procedures. For patients staying overnight in the hospital, slightly higher volumes may be appropriate depending on body weight and overall health. I follow evidence-based volume limits strictly — removing too much fat in one session increases the risk of fluid shifts, anaemia, and other complications. More is not always better.

What’s the difference between Vaser lipo and regular lipo?

Vaser uses ultrasound energy to emulsify fat before removal, while traditional tumescent liposuction relies on mechanical force (the cannula physically breaking up fat). Vaser tends to produce less bruising, better skin retraction, and more precise sculpting — especially in detailed areas like the chin, arms, and abdominal etching. Traditional lipo is effective and well-proven for straightforward fat removal. I often combine both in the same procedure, using Vaser for precision zones and PAL for volume removal.

Will I have loose skin after liposuction?

It depends on your age, skin quality, and the volume of fat removed. Patients under 40 with good skin elasticity usually see excellent skin retraction after liposuction. Patients with stretch marks, sun-damaged skin, or significant weight loss history may experience some laxity. During your consultation, I perform a skin pinch test to assess elasticity. If loose skin is likely, I’ll recommend adding a skin tightening procedure (like a mini tummy tuck) rather than leaving you with a deflated result.
